African American Cultural Center of Camden

April 9, 2018

The City of Camden has opened a museum that highlights the rich history of the African American community of Camden and surrounding areas.  The Cultural Center, under the auspices of the Camden Archives & Museum, will display temporary exhibits on African American history.  These exhibits will change every six months.  Currently, an exhibit on Larry Doby, the first African American to play for the American League and a member of Baseball's Hall of Fame, is on display through August, 2018.

The Cultural Center is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 to 4:30 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00.  For more information please contact the Camden Archives & Museum at 803-425-6050 or via email at archives@camdensc.org
