Celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas in Downtown Camden!

November 17, 2018

Happy Holidays!

The holidays are a favorite time of year in Camden, as lights and decorations can be seen around every corner!

Join with friends and loved ones for the official start of the holiday season in Camden with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of City Hall on Thursday, November 29th. Festivities begin at 6:00 pm with hot chocolate and holiday music, and children are invited to help Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford “throw the switch” and light the tree. Then, take the short walk down Rutledge Street to the heart of Downtown Camden, as many businesses will extend their hours until 8:00 pm, and vendors will be “popping up” along Rutledge Street between City Hall and Broad Street.

This year, the Tree Lighting Ceremony officially kicks off Downtown Camden’s “12 Days of Christmas”, where you can find holiday cheer at festivals, parades, special events, open houses, sales and extended store hours from November 29th through December 10th (and beyond).

Featured events this year include the Fine Arts Center’s Annual Holiday Sales Show, the Camden Junior Welfare League’s 42nd Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes, the first ever International Charles Dickens and Krampus Festivals, Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade, and more.
